Connecting Strap Edge to HTC Vive

This article will instruct you on how to connect Woojer Strap Edge to your HTC Vive. Choose one of the following connection types according to the type of your headphone and according to your preferences. Please note: When using Bluetooth connections, you may experience some delay which can affect your VR experience, even when using a low-latency transmitter.

Wired connection with wired headphones

  1. Connect the provided 3.5mm cable - one end to the Vive's audio output jack (located at the front of the HMD), and the other end to the Woojer Strap Edge's audio input jack.
  2. Connect your headphone to the Woojer Strap Edge's headphone jack. Alternatively, connect the Woojer Strap Edge to the HTC Vive's Audio Strap.

Wired connection with wired headphones and an audio splitter

  1. Connect a "Y" audio splitter to the HTC Vive's audio output jack (located at the front of the HMD).
  2. Connect the Woojer Strap Edge audio-in port to the splitter's first female jack, using a 3.5mm cable.
  3. Connect headphones (or the HTC Vive's audio input) to the splitter's second female jack.

Wireless connection, using a Bluetooth transmitter and wired headphones

  1. Connect an external low-latency Bluetooth transmitter to your PC. (either one with USB or 3.5mm input)
  2. Press and hold the Woojer Strap Edge's power button for 5 seconds until it turns on and enters pairing mode. The blue and red LEDs will start blinking alternately.
  3. Pair the Woojer Strap Edge with the transmitter.
  4. Connect your headphone (or the HTC Vive's audio input) to the Woojer Strap Edge's headphone jack.
  5. Set the transmitter as your default playing device, using Windows settings or using SteamVR audio settings. 
  6. On your PC, set the volume to max. To control the sensation level and volume level, use the Woojer Strap Edge's control buttons.

Wireless connection, using a Bluetooth transmitter and wireless headphones

  1. Connect an external, dual-link, low-latency, Bluetooth transmitter to your PC. (either one with USB or 3.5mm input)
  2. Press and hold the Woojer Strap Edge's power button for 5 seconds until it turns on and enters pairing mode. The blue and red LEDs will start blinking alternately.
  3. Pair the Woojer Strap Edge with the transmitter.
  4. Pair the Bluetooth headset with the transmitter as well.
  5. Set the transmitter as your default playing device, using Windows settings or using SteamVR audio settings.
  6. On your PC, set the volume to max. To control the sensation level, use the Woojer Strap Edge's control buttons.

Wireless connection, using a Bluetooth transmitter and audio mirroring

The following solution enables you to keep using your HTC Vive's audio while using the Woojer Strap Edge, untethered.

  1. Connect an external, low-latency, Bluetooth transmitter to your PC.
  2. Press and hold the Woojer Strap Edge's power button for 5 seconds until it turns on and enters pairing mode. The blue and red LEDs will start blinking alternately.
  3. Pair the Woojer Strap Edge with the transmitter.
  4. Set the transmitter as your default playing device.
  5. Apply audio mirroring so that the audio is routed via both the Woojer Strap Edge and your HMD, simultaneously. You can apply audio mirroring by configuring the SteamVR settings or by using external software, like OBS.
  6. On your PC, set the volume to max. To control the sensation level, use the Woojer Strap Edge control buttons.
